Cold email checker
Paste a cold email and its subject, and this runs the checks Sealrep runs on the emails it drafts: the subject and a fake Re: or Fwd:, fake urgency, one clear ask, length, links in a first email, spam words, shouting, unfilled placeholders, AI tells and dashes. High findings are the ones that make Sealrep rewrite its own draft.

We review every request. Free trial once you're in, no card.
Check an email. Against the rules Sealrep's own drafts follow.
We keep no text you paste: the check runs in memory. To stop abuse we keep a coded count of checks from your network for up to a day (a keyed hash, never your address) and a total for the day.
What each check looks for, and how hard it counts.
| Topic | What it flags | Severity |
|---|---|---|
| Subject | A first email with no subject, or one longer than 8 words or 70 characters | High if missing, medium if long |
| Fake Re: or Fwd: | A first email whose subject starts Re:, Fwd: or Fw:, pretending to be a reply. US law bans misleading subject lines.[1] | High |
| Fake urgency | act now, last chance, spots left, reply today, hurry and similar deadlines nobody set | High |
| One ask | More than one question; a first email with no question at all | High in a first email, medium otherwise |
| Length | First email 50 to 150 words, follow-up 15 to 90, reply 5 to 150 | High when over, medium when under |
| Links | Any link, bare domain or email address in a first email | High |
| Spam words | free, risk-free, click here, buy now, winner, $$$ and others | Medium |
| Shouting | A word of 4 or more capitals (acronyms such as SaaS, SMTP or CEO excepted), or !! | Medium |
| Placeholders | An unfilled {first_name}, [Company] or {{...}} | High |
| AI tells | I hope this email finds you well, delve, game-changer, leverage as a verb, and "not just X but Y" sentences | High for phrases, medium for sentence shapes |
| Dashes | Em and en dashes | High |
| Markdown | Markdown marks: ** around bold words, # before headings, bullet lines and links in square brackets, which arrive in the inbox as typed | High |
| Numbers | A percentage, an amount, a multiplier or a count of 10 or more | Information here, high inside Sealrep |
What this checker does not judge, on purpose.
It does not score your email or predict a reply rate. It cannot see your list, your sending domain or your reputation, and those decide more than the words do. Check the domain with the domain health check.
It does not check the footer either. Sealrep adds your name, your postal address and a way to opt out when it sends, because US law asks every commercial email for a valid physical postal address and a clear way to opt out.[1]
Inside Sealrep, these run before you see a draft.
Every email Sealrep drafts goes through these checks first. A high finding makes it write the email again, and what is left shows next to the draft when you review it. Nothing is sent until a person approves it: one email at a time, or a whole sequence at once, with undo before each send.
Numbers work differently there. The facts about your company that you approve are the only figures a draft may use, so a number nobody backed is a high finding, not a question.
A first email that passes, and one that would be rewritten.
Example data: two made-up emails, run through the real checker on 2 October 2026.
subjectYour client reporting note
Hi Priya, I read your post about moving client reporting into one dashboard, and the part about Monday mornings stuck with me. We run outbound for a handful of small agencies, and the weekly report is where most of our Monday goes too. Would it help if I sent the short checklist we use before each client call, so you can see whether any of it fits how your team works?

Questions people ask. Answered straight.
is this cold email checker free?
Yes, with no account. It runs Sealrep's own rules, with no AI and no credits. One visitor can check 30 emails a minute and 300 a day.
does it check for spam words?
Yes: words and phrases such as free, risk-free, click here and buy now, at medium severity. One rarely sinks an email; a pile of them, with shouting and fake urgency, reads like spam to people as well as to filters.
why is a link a problem in a first email?
Sealrep's rule for a first email is one question and nothing to click. Once someone replies, a reply may carry your booking link or your own Stripe payment link, once each.
why does it ask whether I can back a number?
Because a claim like "3x more replies" is the first thing a careful buyer doubts. Sealrep only lets a figure into a draft when a fact you approved or a source supports it.
do you keep the emails I paste?
No. The text is checked in memory and dropped. We count checks per day and nothing else.
Sealrep runs these checks on every draft and mailbox.
