How do you track your brand’s mentions across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI?

Track your brand’s mentions in AI answers by freezing a set of your buyers’ questions, running each one across the engines you care about on a schedule, and recording four things per answer: whether you are named, whether you are linked, where you sit in the answer, and the tone. Answers shift between runs, so run each question several times and compare the same set over weeks.

#per answer

Score four things, every time.

  • Named: does the answer mention your brand at all (mention rate).
  • Linked: does it cite your page as a source (citation rate), a stronger signal than a bare mention.
  • Position: where in the answer you appear, since first-named reads as the recommendation.
  • Tone: whether the mention is positive, neutral or a warning, in the engine’s own words.

Record the sources each engine cited as well. Those pages are what you compete with for the next answer, and they are where the work goes.

#across engines

Each engine answers differently, so compare them side by side.

ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google’s AI Overviews and Gemini build answers from different sources and update on different schedules, so your brand can be named by one and missing from another for the same question. A single engine tells you little; a side-by-side view across the engines your buyers actually use is what shows where you are strong and where you are invisible.

Pick the engines by reach for your buyers, not by how many you can list. Two engines measured properly, several runs each on a fixed question set, beat five measured once.

#two ways

By hand, or on a schedule.

By hand: ask each engine your questions while logged out, on two different days, before you call any change real. It is free, and it is enough to get a feel for where you stand.

On a schedule: a tracker runs the fixed set across the engines on a cadence, keeps the history, and shows the trend and your share against competitors, so you are not re-typing questions and reading answers by eye every week.

Doing it in Sealrep.

Sealrep runs your question set across the engines in your plan on a schedule, records who is named and cited and the sources behind each answer, and compares you with the competitors you choose over time. It turns the gaps into tasks, and it does not promise citations. More: AI search visibility. For what this is worth paying for, see how much AI visibility tracking costs.

Questions people ask. Answered straight.

how do I check if ChatGPT mentions my brand?

Ask ChatGPT the questions your buyers ask, without naming your brand, while logged out and on two different days. Note whether you are named, linked and where you sit. Repeat, because answers change between runs.

do different AI engines give different brand mentions?

Yes. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google’s AI Overviews and Gemini draw on different sources and refresh on different schedules, so your brand can be named by one and missing from another for the same question. Compare them side by side.

how often do AI answers change?

Often enough that a single check means little. Answers vary between runs and between users, which is why a fixed question set is run several times per engine and compared over weeks, not once.
